If you were looking for me this weekend, this is where I was.
The Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion Design held its annual fashion show at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Québec just outside downtown Ottawa on Saturday June 12. With nearly a thousand present, the 2011 Grande Première was not a show to be missed!
Even though we were part of the show, the models got a chance to watch while waiting our turn on the runway. The designs were unique and one could tell that a significant amount of time and effort had gone into making such artistic pieces. I wore amazing designs by Stephanie Ross and Shanna Lacroix.
Steph’s collection was based on the TV show Dexter. She wanted to include her passion for forensics to her second love fashion design. I wore a bloodstained bubble dress. The corset was made of white leather (well, pleather but you know…Steph worked it). She used red acrylic paint to create the bloodstain effect and as result, her garage needs repainting.
It was my first Richard Robinson show and I cannot wait to be able to do it again next year!
More photos to come :)
